I rebuilt the rear wheel quite a few years ago and used zinc 8g spokes. The rims are original equipment and in reasonable condition. I am aiming to rebuild both wheels with stainless spokes rather than chrome as, in my experience, stainless is more durable if built right. Brakes need re-lining and new cables.
Tyres for vintage bikes is an interesting topic. I plan to ride the bike rather than it be a show bike so I am leaning towards fitting a contemporary touring tyre such a Continental to it. It is currently on TT100s as being a more traditional tyre but even these are later than the bike itself so would not have been original equipment.
